The Rose Window

The Rose Window

The Spirit is seen in the form of a dove, descending, as it were, upon the worshipping congregation to bless its worship. The Spirit is also symbolized in the red and orange glass which resembles flames. This echoes the tongues of fire which rested on the disciples’ heads on Pentecost. Lastly we can see two keys crossed, which represent the “keys to the kingdom” that Jesus said He was giving to Peter, after Peter professed faith in Jesus as the Christ. This window went in during Project 81 (the 1981 sanctuary renovation), as a gift from the Mau family in loving memory of Jack Mau.
