Give a heartfelt housewarming gift to show your support to a Veteran exiting homelessness this Valentine's Day!
St. Peter’s UCC in Skokie is inviting you to provide hope and encouragement to local veterans transitioning from homelessness into permanent housing through a program called Move-in-Essentials (MIE). Coordinated with Military Outreach USA, St. Peter’s will take donations February 17th from 9am to 12pm and 18th from 12pm to 3pm at our door on Laramie Avenue, just north of Oakton Street.
Setting up a new home is exciting, but it is easy to take for granted essential items and their cost. When a veteran leaves a shelter or transitional housing and moves to a permanent residence, they often do not have basic necessities needed to set up their new home. The Move-In-Essentials program provides veterans with personal hygiene, cleaning, bathroom, and kitchen products to make this move easier.
