10am Every Sunday
When you come to St Peter’s on a Sunday morning, you can expect to be greeted by friendly folks, whether you climb the front stairs and go right into our beautiful sanctuary, or if you enter through either of our other doors, by the parking lot on the East or on the Laramie Street side on the west. Sunday School for children and Choir Practice both begin at 9am during the school year, and worship begins at 10am in the sanctuary with the ringing of our steeple bells. We start with a few short announcements and prayer request updates, and then join together to worship the Lord in word, song, and prayer. We share open communion on the first Sunday of every month, and gather after worship for fellowship during coffee hour.
YouTube Video & Podcast
Our full service is recorded on video and hosted on YouTube every week during the COVID-19 Shelter-in-Place order. The service premiers each Sunday at 10am, and is available on our channel. Pastor Lanford's podcast - The Redheaded Preacher - features just the scriptures and the sermon, and is a perfect 20-minute solution for folks who are busy.
How We Make Music
Our Choir meets for practice on Sundays at 9am, beginning with Rally Day in September and continuing through Memorial Day in May. Anyone is welcome to join the choir - no singing experience needed! We love to lift our voices in worship! During the summer, soloists and special musicians fill in while the choir takes a break. (Oh, and we have fun, too ... no matter which sports team we support!)
Our Organ and Piano
The church sanctuary features a custom-built Möller pipe organ with 3 manuals and 23 ranks. A Steinway Grand piano and an electronic keyboard are also available for Sunday worship services which may include a range of sacred music, from traditional to contemporary.
